An offshoot of the Bhoodan movement where entire villages pooled their land holdings for collective management and equitable distribution.
Historical background
Gramdan represented an attempt to scale up Bhoodan's individual land-donation model into a more collectivist framework, but like Bhoodan itself, historians studying its long-term outcomes generally find its practical, lasting impact on land redistribution was considerably more modest than the movement's contemporary publicity suggested.
