Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your information when you use Itihaaskar and buy our digital History notes.
Last updated: REPLACE_LAST_UPDATED (e.g., June 2026)
This Privacy Policy explains how Itihaaskar (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by REPLACE_LEGAL_NAME collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information when you visit itihaaskar.com (the “Site”) and purchase our digital UGC NET / JRF History notes. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to deliver our products and run the Site:
- Account & order details — your name, email address and the products you buy, so we can deliver your downloads and provide support.
- Payment information — payments are processed by our payment gateway (Razorpay) and partners. We do not store your full card or UPI details on our servers; the gateway handles that securely.
- Usage & device data — pages visited, browser type and approximate location, collected through cookies and analytics to improve the Site.
- Communications — messages you send us by email, WhatsApp or social channels.
2. How we use your information
- To deliver the digital notes you purchase and give you access to downloads and updates.
- To provide customer support and respond to your queries.
- To send order confirmations and important service messages, and — only if you opt in — occasional updates about new notes or offers.
- To detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and security issues.
- To comply with our legal and tax obligations.
3. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember your cart and language preference, and understand how the Site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, although some features (such as checkout) may not work properly without them.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Site — for example our payment gateway, hosting provider and email service — and only to the extent needed to perform those services, or where required by law.
5. Data security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including HTTPS/SSL encryption, to protect your data. We retain order and tax records for as long as required by law, and other personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to our legal record-keeping duties.
7. Children
Our products are intended for exam aspirants who are typically adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by local law without appropriate consent.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version, and continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
