| ST | 16420 candidates | 140293 candidates | 126655 candidates |
A JRF qualifier is also eligible for Assistant Professor; the reverse is not true. Within a category the JRF cut-off is the highest of the three and the PhD-only cut-off the lowest.
Minimum qualifying marks
Before any cut-off applies you need at least 40% (120 marks) in both papers together if you are General or EWS, and 35% (105 marks) if you are OBC-NCL, SC, ST or PwD. Each correct answer earns 2 marks and there is no negative marking.
PwD candidates
NTA publishes a separate cut-off for every disability sub-category (VI, HI, LM, OD&AO) under every reservation category. In History the highest PwD cut-offs are JRF 172 and Assistant Professor 138 (both PwD-UR, Locomotor), so reaching those clears every PwD cell. Find your exact sub-category in NTA's table.
