A series of three conferences (1930, 1931, 1932) in London between British officials, Indian political parties, and princely states to discuss constitutional reform — only the second was attended by Congress (represented by Gandhi), and none produced a lasting settlement.

The Second Round Table Conference's failure is worth knowing specifically: Gandhi's insistence on representing all Indians as sole Congress delegate clashed with British insistence on separate minority representation (including for the Depressed Classes, represented by Ambedkar) — a tension that foreshadowed the later Poona Pact dispute.
