Historical background
Rekhaprasada is one of three main shikhara sub-types art historians identify within Nagara temple architecture (alongside phamsana and valabhi), and its towering, gently curving profile is the form most people picture when they think of a classic North Indian temple silhouette, as seen at the Lingaraja Temple and Khajuraho.
