Gandhi’s first nationwide mass movement (1920–22), calling on Indians to withdraw cooperation from British institutions — boycotting schools, courts, titles, and foreign goods — launched partly in response to the Rowlatt Act and Jallianwala Bagh massacre, withdrawn after the Chauri Chaura incident.
